    ACE Trust Strategic Plan 2021–2026

    Better livelihoods
    through structured
    trade.

ACE Trust has always focused on sustainable and efficient ways to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Malawi, and still believes that the best way to achieve this is through structured trade models.

While the format of those models can, and will, change as Malawi’s agricultural markets evolve, ACE Trust will remain focused on ensuring smallholder farmers, through well governed and well managed farmer organisations, are supported to improve their livelihoods.

This strategy does not focus on specific activities or services to be developed within the next five years, but rather on improving processes, building organisational efficiencies, and creating an environment in ACE Trust that can be flexible enough to respond to challenges and opportunities as they arise — while remaining faithful to the ACE Trust and ACE organisational visions and missions.

    What this strategy contributes to

    Five objectives.

    • More transparent agricultural markets, especially in rural areas.
    • Increased efficiency in rural markets that can support adoption by target groups.
    • Better access to marketing, financial, and storage solutions for target groups.
    • Increased capacity of farmers and farmer organisations.
    • Increased income and improved livelihoods for the target groups.
