    ACE Ecosystem

    ACE Ecosystem

Four entities, one shared vision for structured trade in Malawi.

    The ecosystem

    A brand, an umbrella,
    a framework, and a vision.

Since its inception in 2005, ACE has developed into four separate legal entities. ACE is neither an entity nor a holding company; ACE is a brand, an umbrella, a framework, and a vision which should guide and link the development of the individual and separate entities. The overarching vision is to develop structured trade in Malawi, driving economic development, rural farmer integration, agricultural industry development, and the growth and sustainability of the ACE entities.

    ACE Africa

Registered 2005. A licensed agricultural commodity exchange regulated by the Financial Registrar, covering market information, trade facilitation, and the Warehouse Receipt System.

    ACE Trust

Incorporated 2007. A non-profit public trust holding ownership in all ACE entities, designing and implementing development projects alongside partners.

    Commodity Services Limited

Established 2018. A for-profit entity providing collateral monitoring and management, inspection and grading, and training of warehouse personnel.

    Chithumba

Established 2020. A for-profit entity housing the Chithumba access-to-input model, run by ACE Trust as a project since 2015.

    Where ACE Trust sits

    Three functions, holding
    the ecosystem together.

Structured trade development across the ecosystem, ensuring each entity has a strong foundation and develops in line with the shared ACE vision.

    2

    Design and implement development projects

    3

    General services

Organisational support functions shared across all entities, from administration and governance to monitoring and evaluation.
